Abstract

This work employs Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) using SolidWorks Sustainability to assess the environmental impact of 355 ml glass, aluminum, and PET packaging used by Coca-Cola in Mexico. The four measured impacts include carbon footprint, energy consumption, atmospheric acidification, and water eutrophication. It analyzes stages from material selection to end-of-life, considering factors such as manufacturing region, usage period, production process, and transportation. Data from SEMARNAT, the Chamber of Deputies, FEMSA, and Arca Continental are used to obtain results and compare the sustainability of packaging materials.
