Abstract

In this work, the valorization of Sargassum spp. algae for biochar synthesis via pyrolysis under a limited-oxygen atmosphere and its application as a reinforcing filler in polymeric materials for 3D printing are proposed. The material was characterized by FTIR, TGA, SEM, and NMR. FTIR analysis evidenced the formation of an aromatic network (1600 cm-1), while TGA showed adequate thermal stability. SEM micrographs revealed a heterogeneous micro/mesoporous morphology, and NMR analysis confirmed characteristic aromatic groups (125 ppm). The results demonstrate the production of a high-quality biochar with potential as a functional reinforcement.
